It worked about as well as you would expect cat-shaming to work.
She's always a bit of a jerk about playing in people's glasses of water, also. You have to take your water glass with you wherever you venture because, if you leave it someplace, when you return, she will be sitting by it with her feet in it. Shaming doesn't help with that, either.
Then, it was a nice day on Sunday and I know she's been wanting to go outside and explore the area around the apartment. I wasn't willing to just let her out and she's never worn a collar or harness or anything, but she had to learn in order to go outside. I bought what was supposed to be a comfy cat harness and a little leash and strapped her in and out we ventured. Well, she hated the harness and fought it until the point when she finally got interested enough in the outdoors to stop fighting the harness and she led me under a tree where a very angry bird shouted at us the entire time. As Bea was gathering the courage to stick her face by a railroad tie fence, she got pooped on by said angry bird. Actually, we both sort of did, but she got the brunt of it.
Needless to say, Beatrix ended the weekend with a very long bathing session and then sleeping most of the evening away.
Oh, Miss Bea. You win some, you lose some. Better luck next weekend.
